Google Analytics: Real-Time and Premium

The changes keep coming to Google Analytics, with Google rolling out two new services: Real-Time Statistics and Analytics Premium.

Google Analytics Real-Time

If Google Analytics had any real drawback, it was that you could only get credible data from the previous day. You could not track same-day stats or shared content on social media pages.

Google Analytics Real-Time is a new set of reports that show website activity as it happens, allowing you to track social media campaigns. By tagging links that you share on Facebook and Twitter with tags related to your marketing campaign, you can track the exact impact of those links.

Google Analytics Premium

Google has also announced a premium service for enterprise companies who want more support than what the free version offers. According to their blog, Google Analytics Premium offers:

  • Advanced analysis – attribution modeling tools that allow you to test different models for assigning credit to conversions
  • Service and support – experts to guide customized installation, and dedicated account management on call – all backed by 24/7 support
